Nobure!

A few new pictures are up on my flickr page. Took them a couple weeks ago while hiking.  They give you a pretty good idea of what autumn is like in Anchorage (autumn being late September).

every questioned hour

Hello, everybody!  I am back in Anchorage, and the new semester has begun.  I have a few new pictures up on my flickr page, if you'd care to check them out. I put a few from South Jersey up, to show that it doesn't have to be ugly all the time.

Also, the earthquake tally must be updated.

Sendai: 4

Anchorage: 6

Total: 10

Edit: I don't know why, but html seems not to work on blogspirit anymore.  Or, it does, but is a major pain.  I'm not sure what was changed, but it was definitely for the worse.  So please excuse any oddities to spacing, color, links, etc.  I suppose I'll have to find a new site to host my blog, as I'm too lazy to deal with how blogspirit messes up html these days.

full of sound and fury

Just a little something that I found interesting, and thought I should share:

http://www.unc.edu/depts/chaucer/zatta/prol.html  (Sorry for no link--HTML seems to be broken.  Should be corrected soon.)

14 lines from the Canterbury Tales, in Middle English, with accompanying audio file.

Very Germanic.  My, how English has changed in 600 years.  It's also interesting to note that, while reading English c. 1400 is incredibly difficult, reading it c. 1600 (say, Shakespeare) is quite simple.  That it changed so much between 1400 and 1600, and so little between 1600 and 2000....  Some argue that the popularity of Shakespeare slowed down the evolution of the English language, but I am making no assertions here.  Simply sharing something that struck me.

this time it's pudding

I know it has been a long time, and I apologise. I'm afraid that I've done little of excitement thus far this year, what with it being winter in Alaska, and me being poor (not to mention college). But I have news, for those who may not know.

I have decided to return to my native land of South Jersey, New Jersey over the summer. I'll be arriving Monday, the 9th of May, and there should be much celebration. Not simply for my magnificent return (again), but also for the end of the semester and beginning of summer. So, yes! It will be wonderful to see you all. Also, I apologize in advance for any complaining I may do about melting.

In addition to that, I have some lovely (amusing, at any rate) videos to share with you.

Japanese variety show + bondage = hot.

Japanese girls are adorable.

Let's Sexy English!

You may ask yourself...what's the point? Well, I'll tell you the point. The point is cute Japanese girls in little French maid costumes.

On a somewhat different note, here are videos of two of my favorite songs (also Japanese). So, if you're interested in such things, please check them out.

Kabutomushi by Aiko

Dareka no Negai ga Kanau Koro by Utada Hikaru

Hello! Orange Sunshine by Judy and Mary Not really one of my favorite songs, but it's fun, if you don't find it terribly annoying.

Lastly, I should be putting up some new pictures on my flickr page soon, so check it out sometime soon.

Creamy Goodness

I headed up to Flattop a couple hours ago, in an attempt to learn how to take pictures at night (which requires a couple manual adjustments, such as shutter speed). At any rate, I got it! They're not perfect, but they don't look half-bad. I put a couple up on my flickr page.
